Andalucia is a sunny place where relaxing and enjoying is what You do!
It is situated in the south of Spain. Its 550km (340mi) from east to west and between 90km (56mi) and 250km (155mi) from north to south. The coastline is shared between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean with the seas joining at the bottom in the Strait of Gibraltar. Tarifa, continental Europes southernmost town, is only 15km (9mi) from Africa. Andalucia is divided into eight provinces (Huelva, Seville, Cordoba, Jaen, Cadiz, Malaga, Granada and Almeria) and four geographical areas: the Sierra Morena, the Guadalquivir valley, the mountains and the coastal plain.
It is one of the areas with the most resources of Spain. The connection between mountains and sea offers the chance to touch the snow of Sierra Nevada, one of the main mountains to ski in Spain, and also enjoy the beautiful beaches of the Costa del sol, Costa de la luz just an hour apart.
Protected areas as Parque Natural de Cazorla (Jaen) or Parque Nacional de Donana (Huelva), offers a natural countryside full of vegetation and keeping the varieties of animals protected from hunting and human interference.
If your preferences are the art and historical monuments, you are in the right place, Andalucías cultural heritage is impressive. Towns as Cordoba, Granada and Seville are among the most wonderful in the world. There you will be overwhelmed about the historical places built in the arabic style and the magic of their architecture.
Flamenco is an individualistic, yet structured folk art from Andalucia, which is often improvised and spontaneous. The song, dance and guitar are blended together by the passionate rhythms of southern Spain which is flamencos geographical birthplace.
Active visitors wont be able to sit still in Andalucía. With such a fantastic choice of watersports on the coast, and golf, cycling, hiking, surfing and horse riding inland, you wont know whether to pick up a board or a whip. If binoculars are more your thing, Andalucía is also great bird-watching country.
When watching is active enough, theres football, the national sport, and of course bullfighting. The ritual and spectacle of this bloody battle is guaranteed to get your heart racing.
